Allan Scott: God In Me - Review

Allan Scott: God In Me - Review

By Wayne Wrzesinski on May 27, 2013

I’ve really enjoyed listening to Allan Scott’s new single “God In Me”. Allan had some hard times, even spending some time in jail before turning to God and becoming a worship leader/songwriter. “God In Me” is a heartfelt song, written at a time where he was crying out to God.

The first verse admits weakness and reliance on God’s strength. This helps to set up the chorus of the song very well. Part of the chorus lyric is:

You are able,
You are faithful
God of victory, You are God in me
Be God in me

I love how he recognizes who God is and then applies it by inviting God to be that personally.

This song has a “modern worship” sound, it is well arranged and mixed, and uses dynamics to build well. I can see a congregation proclaiming the chorus together as they focus on who God is and what they want Him to be in their lives personally.
