Dancing in the Rain [Devotion]
I recently read a quote: "Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it is about learning to dance in the rain." -Vivian Greene
I love that! All of us face storms in life. It is so easy to look at the storms and just pray that God helps us make it through or that He takes it away! We don’t like storms. We don’t like it when our faith is tested. We complain when we have to go through hard times in life.
Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” It doesn’t say rejoice when things go your way! It doesn’t say rejoice when you get that big raise! It says, rejoice ALWAYS!
Even in the storms of life, as worshipers, we can rejoice and dance in the rain! We rejoice not because our circumstances are perfect! We rejoice because we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
We can not only dance in the rain, but we can worship in the rain! We worship Him, who is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise, despite our circumstances!
My friend, Darrell Evans, has a great line in one of his songs:
“Even if You never did another thing for me, You’re still worthy of my praise. Even if You never heard another prayer of mine, You’re still worthy of my praise.”
(from "Wonderful" on the Nothing Less Than Everything album)
As you reflect on this, I encourage you to worship along with this powerful song by Darrell: "You Could Never Be Praised Enough"Comment on Facebook Comment on Twitter
