Fantastic Free Resource For Worship Leaders
Not so long ago we came across a fascinating online community of worship leaders called Worship The Rock. It’s basically an international social network for worship leaders. Imagine a mini Facebook where the 6000+ members are either worship leaders, worship pastors or worship team musicians!
We’d like to draw your attention to a few cool things you can do on Worship The Rock. First off, you sign up for a free profile by uploading your photo and filling out a few basic questions. Then you can start connecting with other worship leaders in the worship leader forum and the other popular areas of the site.
Another really useful feature is the ability to upload your own songs to your profile for others to listen to and perhaps start using in their services too. You get your own customizable music player.
One of the really popular resources is the ‘worship set lists’ section. Each week, members post their set lists for others to view. This has been a great source of inspiration for lots of worship leaders and has helped them to find new songs to introduce to their churches.
A few other areas of Worship The Rock worth checking out are the worship leader blogs and the fascinating ‘Member Map’ where you can see where in the world other members live, and easily find worship leaders near you.
Finally, be sure to check out the ‘worship leader jobs’ board for the latest worship vacancies near you. You can sign up to be notified when new jobs are posted.
The network was set up by Phil Williams in April 2008 and has been a huge success. According to Vicky Beeching’s blog she thinks it’s a ‘cool idea’ and we have to agree!
If you like reading blogs you can add the WTR worship leader blog to your favorite RSS reader and stay in touch with the latest happenings.
