Gateway Worship: The First Ten Years - Review
A worship team of over 40 people praising God on their nights of worship has now helped thousands worship Jesus worldwide in five different languages. Gateway Worship has compiled a collection of worship hymns and anthems reflecting the journey of their first 10 years. A symphony of glorious praise.
The First Ten Years might as well be titled All My Favorite Songs as it contains world renowned worship anthems “Revelation Song”, “O The Blood” and “No Sweeter Name” made popular by Kari Jobe. Uptempo tracks like “The Lord Reigns” and “You, You Are God” feature male lead vocals including Worship Pastor, Thomas Miller and other GW members.
Each song is the original live recording, preserving every drop of ambience. The musical crafting is excellent and flawless from simple piano lines in “The More I Seek You” to the orchestral strings in “Come Thou Fount, Come Thou King”. Not to mention the stellar vocals of Rebecca Pfortmiller in “Stay Amazed”!
The lyrics, “We’re only here to tell the world about your grace...” from “We Cry Out” shows GW’s heart for their commitment to taking local songs to the world. With every song on The First Ten Years being easy to sing with their simple lines of praise, this album echoes their mission to lead the church into an intimate place of worship.
I give this 4 out of 5 stars
