New Wine Worship - Spirit Fall [Review]

New Wine Worship - Spirit Fall [Review]

By Glenn Stout on September 16, 2014

New Wine Worship is released a new album in support of their 2014 Summer National Gatherings Conference.  The new album, Spirit Fall, was recorded live at four different worship conferences this Spring and has a live, edgy sound to it.

Although this is my first time hearing New Wine Worship, the album has a great team of worship leaders and a tight band and was produced by top UK producer, Trevor Michael who also produces for Matt Redman and Martin Smith.  The album is packed with songs that speak of God's love and power, and will be a fantastic resource for most every church.

The tone of the album is definitely worshipful and every song points to Jesus.  You won’t find any out and out rockers on the album, but it contains a nice mix of slower and mid-tempo songs.  Each song could easily work well in a congregational worship setting and several should find their way into regular rotation on Sunday set lists.

One of the catchiest songs on the album is ‘This Is Our Song.’  This track sounds like it could’ve been written and sung by Matt Redman.  The lyrics cry out; “Our song is one of hope and freedom,

Resounding out in celebration, The roar of worship fills the air, The sound of heaven everywhere.”  This song would top my candidates for inclusion in your Sunday set list.

A couple other more noteworthy songs include ‘Hope Is On The Horizon’ and ‘Strong God.’ Both songs point to the strength of God and His faithfulness to provide for us.  Both songs have catchy chorus’ that would be easy for a congregation to pick up on and sing along with.

Although this is my first exposure to New Wine Worship, I’d venture to guess it won’t be my last.  Although none of the individual tracks on the album stand out as hit singles, when you take Spirit Fall as a whole, it’s a complete worship experience.
