Paul Baloche - Live [Review]

Paul Baloche - Live [Review]

By Aaron Olson on March 31, 2014

You are in for a MASSIVE treat and renewing with Paul Baloche’s latest album, Live. Many worship albums claim to be “live”, but this one is as raw, real, and refreshing as it gets. Paul Baloche is an anointed stud, and there is no other way to put it! This album includes new songs co-written by Baloche with Matt Maher, Brenton Brown, Aaron Shust, along with Graham Kendrick.

Throughout this album you will find yourself worshiping along with Paul as you declare the goodness and faithfulness of God. This will be a GREAT album to play in the background as you get alone with God, but be sure to not limit it to only your devotional times.

There are many recognizable tracks on Live, along with some new ones.  One of my favorite tracks is “God My Rock”. Made famous by Brenton Brown, this anthem of lyrics is powerful.  This song is a total declaration of God’s faithfulness in the good, the bad, the seen, the unseen. My favorite phrase in this song is “In the blessing, in the pain, through it all You’ve never failed me.” Such truth, even though we are sometimes blinded by our fears and doubts in various situations of our life.

“Mighty Fortress” is another powerful song that you are sure to be familiar with. It begins with the raw vocals of Paul and the congregation with a simple key hold on the keyboard. 40 seconds in, the band jumps in and they are off and running. As worship pastors you are already familiar with this song, and if you aren’t, you should be. The declarations in this song are evident and encourage the heart. Put this song into your rotation. Seriously. Do it. Now.

I’m not going to highlight any more songs. Why? Because it would be unfair to all the other songs. I don’t want any of them to get their feelings hurt. So, do the songs a favor and buy the album! Do YOURSELF a favor and buy this album. As you listen to this record your spirit will be encouraged and you will feel refreshed for another day. You won’t be disappointed.
