Ready For Battle [Devotion]

Ready For Battle [Devotion]

By Jasmine Green on April 07, 2014

The Israelites were no strangers to the battlefield. Taking over land and enemy possessions, and also under attack numerous times, they were constantly in the throes of battle.

For many of us, being ready for battle is not something we think about when we wake up in the morning. But that's exactly what Paul instructs us to do in Ephesians 6. We need to be prepared, ready to fight, and use every weapon God has supplied us as our armor - truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation - on a daily basis.

Let's think about that for a second.

If just one piece of our armor is missing, on any given day, we leave ourselves vulnerable and exposed for the enemy to attack our weak spot. Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6 that we need to learn how to apply each part of our armor daily, through the Word of God and prayer. They are indispensable and essential in the battle we are fighting.

Let's continue to fight strong and fight long. As Paul says in Eph 6:10 (MSG):

"God is strong, and He wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials."
