Using A Worship Team Application
Back in August 2013 I took on the role of part-time Worship Director at a local church (Lord of Life) here in Kansas City. I've been a worship leader since 1999 and have served as a worship pastor or worship director at various churches since. One of the first things I like to do when I step into the role at a new church is see what processes are in place and implement new processes if necessary, or improve the existing processes.
At Lord of Life, I immediately saw that I needed to put an application and audition process in place for people interested in joining the worship team. All our worship team members are volunteers, so I wanted to make the process as easy as possible for folks.
Instead of reinventing the wheel, I asked around to see what some of my worship leader friends use as an application. (Too bad I didn't keep any I've made in the past! That would've been too easy!)
If you're looking at creating a worship team application, maybe this will be helpful. I encourage you to have an application in place and to use it consistently for anyone wanting to join the worship team.
(In the coming weeks I'll share my thoughts on recruiting volunteers and the audition process.)Comment on Facebook Comment on Twitter
